Abellio is a Dutch public transport company that operates services in the United Kingdom and Germany, with both bus and rail networks. It was founded as NedRailways in 2001, before being renamed Abellio in October 2009. Abellio is wholly owned by the Dutch national rail operator Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

"Management are incompetent Job offers are based on lies - have EVERYTHING promised in writing before signing a contract (if you even get one) Whole office environment involves the blame game - no one (particularly management) takes responsibility for anything Nepotism rife Toxic environment - AVOID"

"Very dodgy company every time problem with wages they try to pay you less and you need to beg them for money 10 times if controller ask you to make some additional trip they will pay you basic pay instead of overtime Controllers try to hasten you because time of journey is so short not possible to make it driving within the speed limit even when you dosnt stop at any bus stop and after menager call you to his office and check mobile eye asking why you drive so fast You don't have stand time at all always they call before you get to stand asking to go now treat you like robot brakes are short Duty are crap some of them are 5 hours so minus brake you get pay for 4h 20 minutes Menagment not helpfull at all nobody knows nothing if you have any issues they will send you from one to the other same with swapping duties you can ask hundred times and they not going to change nothing"

"Management bend the rules to their benefit example rushing driver out on road where minimal checks are done on the bus. My advice Stick to the proper bus companies like Metroline and London United Constantly chasing pay as hours are always wrong. No hard copy of contract given at all after many many enquiries. In 8 months I was accepted once for overtime"

"I have been a bus driver for sixteen years and I have worked last ten years for abellio, bus drivers are treated like animals and they are regularly bullied by uneducated low life controllers and so called managers, every bus company is worst the other and I believe this one only cares about how to exploit and make money lack of break times no spread overs like proper bus companies like London United and Metroline I left recently and will never look back."

"Made arrangements to visit recruitment day. Was made to sit theory and practical driving assessment which I passed. From my Initial contact with abellio I knew immediately there is nepotism, favouritism and hierarchy within the battersea depot! Most of the African managers who have been promoted to trainers and other management positions are extremely egotistical and will belittle you on the recruitment day. Not that their job is as senior, considering the years they worked to be in a somewhat, senior role! You will definitely get a Job here if you do not speak out and follow Abellio's exploitive policies for example, you must agree to a bond of £5,000 if you leave within the first year of service to cover Abellio's PCV training yet, Abellio advertises 'free training' to entice job seekers to apply to become a bus driver. I questioned this unethical point and apart from anything else, they wrote and said I'm unsuccessful although I passed their prerequisite tests. By the way they will coerce you and bully you to sign a form to say you will pay the bond and will be flexible to start 3AM and finish 3AM any day so they have you open to work any day and any time. Completely wrong! Avoid this company Please!NoneDominated by favouritism"

"dużo błędów w wypłacie a jak sam się dopatrzysz to musisz latać i prosić o swoje i nawet cie nie przeproszą tylko traktują cie jakby to była twoja wina. ja osobiscie miałem nie zapłacone za pierwsze 2 dni treningu zgłosiłem menadzerowi i to nie wystarczyło musiałem do niego co jakiś czas latać i mu przypominać . i zajęło mu to ok 6 tyg ... to samo było z ostatnimi dwoma tygodniówkami których nie mam jeszcze . a manager jak wyjdziesz od niego to zapomina od razu ze miał ci cos zalatwić.... to samo z uniformami . mi dali inne szmaty niz zamowilem . oddalem czesc i 3 miechy czekam i nic a baba co za to odpowiada jest argancka i zarozumiała i jeszcze parska ze to nie jedyna jej robota i prawdopodobnie ona nawet tego nie zamawia bo z kim bym nie gadał to mieli podobne sytuacje .. tydzien pracy tez zjebany masz duty po 6,30 h przez 3 dni 2 dni dluzsza ci dadza zeby wyszlo okolo 38 godzin i tak srednio 38 do 41 godzin tydz pracy ... wypłata poniżej 400 a koszta życia dośc duże więc ogólnie oceniam to firmę jako PORAŻKA. zapomniałem nadmienić że jestem tu przez agencję i ten okres w którym mi sie skonczyl agencyjny kontrakt kolejna wypłata powinna byc od abelio ale nie było bo oni cos nie potrafią wykonywać podstawowych swoich obowiązków.ja nie widzę plusów tej firmyKadra niedbała i olewcza w stosunku do kierowców"

"I worked for Abellio for a year. I met my targets, I wasn’t late and I had one sick day. I told my manger on a Thursday I’d need to take time off to get an emergency blood transfusion. I got sacked on the Tuesday. Same manger said that if you work more than eight hours you’re not entitled to a break if you are a temp. "It’s the lowest paid bus company in London, no standards at all, no wounder all the drivers are always stressed and are always leaving, this company is always hiring on a weekly bases. Managers and job Allacotors take bribes on the side to give best hours and jobs. Ibus controllers barley speak any English and have no clue what services there providing, know wounder abellio buses are always late, if the bus is faulty the ibus tell you to just carry on instead of sending the mechanics, putting you and the passengers in risk. Also now they have cut all the breaks in which you are doing donkey hours for less breaks. The wages is low compared to other buses companies and a lot of favourites goes on between the managements. A lot of there buses are not road worthy, in the winter we have no heaters and always the poor passengers are complaining and the summer the same no air conditioning. Wish TFL could put an full investigation on this company, I assure you they would be surprised in what they find.Free travelLow wages & unfair company"

"working at the head office branch for 3 years there are 1% English born citizen 3% Greek 10% Samalians 65% Nigerian 22% bugarians/Albanians............................... The company prefers to pay low wages for the first two years when you are doing either more and just the same as the senior drivers... probation period is two years before increase hourly rate but many either are sacked or leave treatment from managers is abysmal and the running of bus services is awful they win routes but rarely retain them due to poor regulation of the service the only reason the company continues to function is that they are legally bind by government legislation and TFL contractual agreements in general go for Go-ahead London or stagecoach there much better and treat your with respect and curtesy and eventually get bonuses with increase hourly rate with cateen ficilities stockwell/Camberwell/new cross re the best depots............forget abellio/arriva.........................none!none"

"I have joined this company as a bus driver even though i have my qualification in mechanical engineering! I work for this company for about two years and decided to to join the engineering department ! carried in all my certificate to the operation manager and engineering manager but nothing was done even thought promises were made that i would be transferred over, this carried on for almost one year! the route that i was driving in services was TUPE to london central so i went along with the route as i saw no progression in this company .free bus pasnot that easy to be promoted if your not in one of the manager back pocket if you know what i mean!!"

"Every year is worse. We drive over 5 hours without stand time now. Short breaks. I am receiving less money than the year before. Duties are different every day. Your body is in panic because of the different time of sleeping. No accommodations to have your break. They offer you to spend your break in disgusting cars. Support from the management ZERO. Only expectations from you, but the company is giving you nothing back."
